Someone mentioned hearing Shoreline FD using TG 22288 for directly calling AMR, but also hearing Mercer Island using the same TG. Does this make sense or is it possibly a patch ?

I have it listed as a talkgroup for Eastside fire; which neither Shoreline nor Mercer Island part of or even remotely close to. Not only that but it's inside the "block" of talkgroups in use by Eastside Fire.
From some quick research I see that Shoreline is its own fire district; and Mercer Island is their own department (not sure if it's a district).

That was me that mentioned that TG. I think it is patched, because the hex ID wasn't 22288. It used to be FDISP 4 when Mercer Island had their own dispatch center. MI shut that down and moved to Bellevue for fire years ago.

I heard a Northshore FD unit on there talking to AMR. I'm thinking that it's used by Zone 1 agencies to contact AMR directly.

When you look at the TGs that are listed for "Eastside Fire," keep in mind that's different than "Eastside Fire & Rescue."

Trunker shows it as a patch, I don't have the details handy. Also heard a Tri-Med unit on it.

Eastside Fire dispatches for just about everything North on Renton all the way around the lake including Shoreline.

You may hear many popular favorites such as Snoqualmie Pass, City of Snoqualmie, Maple Valley, Newcastle, Issaquah, Redmond, Shoreline and Northshore (Kenmore) and more! Some of those agencies fall within city departments and others Eastside Fire Rescue. Listen today and get exclusive limited edition radio traffic before NORCOM turns it all upside down.

Ya, it's very confusing.

Norcom is aiming for July 2009 - whether they are ready or not.

I'm guessing they won't be. It'll be a wild ride. Eastside Communications is already starting to make some Norcom-induced changes.

And, until the "new" CAD Vendor (New World) get's up to speed with Fire Dispatch Support, they will likely be running 2 CAD systems concurrently.

will there be any Taqlkgroup changes? or just anew "dispatch" center and a new way of dispatching?

On the fire side, I'd assume that there will be little to no changes to listeners. Mainly it's a governance issue -- all of the fire districts and other cities (except Redmond) are now owners of NORCOM and have a say in how things are run, where before they simply contracted with Bellevue and didn't really have much of a voice.

Redmond might be getting their own dispatch and maybe even tac channels now since they didn't jump on the Norcom boat.

I would imagine everyone else will stay the same; especially because of the cost to reprogram every fire radio on the eastside. The setup they have now consisting of a couple Fire Disp groups followed by several tac channels, which are already enough to support the existing units and some are leaving, will continue to function just fine no matter what agency is pushing the foot peddle.

Redmond is not going anywhere. Redmond Fire is still going to be dispatched by Norcom, but they were the only entity that didn't become a principal (i.e. an owner). Instead, they're a subscriber. Essentially they decided to stay for now, but see how things work out before they completely jumped in. It's kind of like renting before you buy.

It is a common talk group that is used by agencies that have a contract with AMR for direct contact. Shoreline is dispatched by Eastside which is located in Bellevue soon to be NORCOM.
