"The newly established Sound Transit police force has 30 officers from the King County Sheriff with the duty of patrolling Link and Sounder. It is separate from the Metro Transit Police."

Any ideas on unit designators and/or channels? I'd guess that they're on Metro's Transit Police channels, but that's just a guess.

I just got Trunker back up and running and remember seeing metro police pop up on the screen a few times. I'll keep an ear out.

How do they pull over the trains with that thing?

The train probably just continues on its way until it reaches something level with the roadway. Either that or the hi-rail gear tucks in under the bumper. :P

Well, if I wuz a train, and some guy waved one of those at me, I'd wave back with 1 finger and keep going.

Which leads me to ask, how do you do a "pit manuever" on a train?

They also operate a bunch of these:

...much easier to pull over. Also Tacoma Link, and the Sounder.

They are not allowed until they have done it at an evoc class. They are still trying to figure out how to get the train to the evoc track...

A chance it might be "Sound xx" or "Transit xx"?! or.... just change the designators for all of them, to something else!

Metro call signs are the bus monitors. Sound call signs are for the light rail deputies.

I gotta admit one thing... I do like the new "Black and White" color scheme for the Metro (and now the Sound units) patrol cars!

23952 Transit Police Primary. Metro XX and Sound XX units.
23984 Transit Police TAC
24016 Channel 7. Link Control, District Supervisors, Sam12 (head tunnel security guard), and Transit PD can all talk here. Patched to 453.525 (114.8 ).
24048 Channel 8. Seems to be a way for transit PD to contact the main operations dispatchers. SPD was on here during the Seattle Marathon.
