A bunch of places on the east coast. Perhaps you are getting some skip ? Not a lot of low-band is being used in Washington state.

it wasn't skip, voices, 2 men, were discussing how to return to the eastside via I-90, where the ramps were congested, what strets were closed. has me puzzled.

Interesting. Typical lowband in Washington was DOT, CEMNET, Wa. Natural Gas, Bainbridge fire, a few trucking & towing companies, and the buses for a couple of school districts. The majority of the band wasn't used. Makes me wonder who is it and if they are operating under a valid license.

it wasn't CEMNET, i'm very familiar with that! didn't some of the old cordless phones operate in that range? but then, i was hearing both sides of the conversation and it was a very strong signal. puzzling.

Bob, I've listened to that freq afew times too, I'm just as puzzled as you are, I've heard them talk about fishing and and where they were on the water plus afew other things, I''m guessing it's a freq from canada. I can hear it out in forks when I travel west and it comes in pretty clear, so your's an anybody elses guess is as good as mine.

i don't think it's Canuk stations, these guys were very specific in their discussions about the snow situation in the Seattle and eastside areas; i'm wondering if they are using their company radios. they made it sound like one was just coming on shift and filling in the guy whose shift would end a couple hours later. i've run all my usual freq searches and come up empty handed!

i still do not believe these were Canuk stations, they were discussing how to get home to the east side from Seattle and obvioisly were well acquainted with I-90 and it's ramps.
