Anyone know of the frequencies that they run on? Someone told me they run off a frequency that is actually a police frequency. Anyone know? |

Try this. If there's no traffic it might be that they moved here. I don't know anything about Whatcom county or PA licenses so I can't tell you much else. |

The 464.6000 & 464.6500 that Atomic Taco posted appear to be newly issued freqs. Also, looking at the Admin portion of that license, it looks like they were recently told "uh, you gotta BUILD OUT dude's" (or the FCC official version thereof) |

Ok that worked, I entered all those. I guess its on a trunking system. I can hear their transmissions fine but when I scan those freq's the scanner constantly stops and you hear a quick click, then it moves on. It more annoying then anything else, but anyway you can get rid of this? Thanks for the help!! |

Which frequencies do you receive voice on? |

Try listening to each freq one at a time. If you hear that "tick", check the time between. See if it is once every 10 seconds. If so, you have an LTR trunking system. That is called "idle message" If so, check to see if you have idle message on both freqs, or just one. |

Their is voice on several freq's but i havent had time to pay attention to which ones. I will do that soon. I sat on one frequency for a while and heard a click about every 15 secs. Most frequencies had that click. I guess their isnt anything I can do about that is there? Im still learning about all this trunking stuff. Thanks :) |

Sounds like you're monitoring a LTR system; does your scanner support LTR trunking? Depending on the make/model, it might also figure out the LCN for you. If you want to know more about LTR, this article gives a good introduction and has a lot of great links. |

ATOMIC- Yep this is exactly what it is. Im using an old PRO-93, which i think is about 7 years or older. Im looking in the online manual for it, Im not seeing that it says anything about LTR. So on the new scanners can you scan these freq's and avoid the constant clicking?? Im going to upgrade soon anyway. Thanks for the good info! |

You're right, the 93 won't do LTR systems. And any scanner that does do LTR will allow you to "follow" the conversation, by receiving the channel that the talkgroup is being broadcast on. Some scanners will help you figure out the LCNs, which you'll need to program in correctly for a LTR system, but it's possible to figure them out even on scanners that don't help you. If you're looking to get a brand new scanner, the Pro-164 is on sale right now for $99.99. You can always pick up a used scanner for cheaper too. |
