Anybody know what Union units are ? I know this is national night out, I think they are the units assigned to DUI enforcement tonight. They are pulling people over like there is no tomorrow tonight. They are also clearing William's like crazy.

Edit : I've heard about a dozen Union units , so I'm sure they are assigned to the DUI enforcement.

Your probably right. More than likely the "X-52" or whatever they call it Holiday Patrols. combined effort with WSP and all western Wa PD/SO's. They are out in force, so drive safe out there..

When I lived in Seattle and use to listen to SPD Union Units were the University area, Nora Units the North end, Boy Units Ballard area. I'm sure over time things may have changed.

In Thurston County the "union" units are either cadets or community service officers.

Just my $.02
I was right behind a Kitsap sheriff motor officer as he pulled over some speeder and heard his call on my scanner. (Nirvana for the SWL). He used a Union radio number.

Both Friday and Saturday night their was extra units performing traffics stops only. When this happens they get assigned a "Union" number and have their own dispatcher. They were not on the SCSO TG's but rather using the Special Event TG's.

TG 61744 was normal traffic.
TG 61936 was Data.
