Anybody know why Central Pierce Fire & Rescue is no longer going to be dispatched by Firecom in Lakewood?

Money and power. As Tim the Toolman always says " MORE POWER ". The Lakewood "PSAP" is a "joint powers" group - that is on its own for direction - operation and support (Money). The members control the operation by having votes on the board. If one District (or Chief) doesn't like what the rest of the group is doing --- he just stamps his feet and acts like a little kid and says "If you don't let me play -- the games I like -- I will take my ball home -- so no one can play." There is only one County Sheriff in each county. The job could be done better -- with ONE County Fire Department Or Single Countywide District.

There are many reasons that they are leaving...though it won't be much different for them at TFD

So if Puyallup voters decide to merge with Central Pierce, they will also be dispatched by tacoma.

Are the station numbers going to change for central pierce.

Central Pierce numbers will stay the same. Their 60 series is in line and does not conflict in the CAD with TFD using Stations 1-18. Puyallup will presumably have to change. TFD already has stations 1,2 & 3, alot easier to change Puyallups three numbers.

So today is the big day that CPFR goes to Tacoma. Anybody know what frequency they're now operating on?

They are toned on 156.240 and they will continue to work on F3 - 154.160 UFN. :bsflag:

More than likely Puyallup will become 71, 72 and 73

However, not too sure there will be a merger, there is alot of "anti" campaigning.

Just heard E61/L61 toned out on 156.240, response channel was ch-15, which came up as F-3, 154.160.

No they don't have Tacoma Talkgroups. Just mobile and portable 800 radios to use with Puyallup and TFD.

Ch 16 is their dispatch
Ch 15 is really F3
Ch 14 is really F4

TFD has to number there "channels" based on the channel number they program it in their portables and mobiles.

So, A2 is actually TFD 800 Tac 2, etc.
