i hate vetco but they have quite a few adapters in bellevue - only one closer is that radio store in woodinville they are still there, but they never really seamed to have much other then books. |

I used to work with a Russian guy who called it "whetco". I loved to hear him talk! I don't know if you have been there lately, but Warren has improved the place quite a bit. That is an interesting place. If you are buying 1 or 2 the price is kinda stiff, but I needed some bulk parts one day (like 400 pieces) and there I was counting (1,2,3,50,120 etc..) I don't know how far I got, but Warren came over, asked what I was doing, and said "here is how we do it". He grabbed a few handfuls, and asked "is that enough", I said, Nah, so he threw in a few more handfuls. Then he asked "ok, how much do you think it is worth?" I got a pretty darn good deal on that trip. That was when I started to like the place. |

i will have to give them a try some time again, last time I was in there it was all HDTV and HD TV hook up parts. I am also sad that they dont really have all the old crap that you could buy a chunk of. but I do understand that they arnt a garage sale for people to just poke at old crap no one ever buys. but I really do miss the days that they had the 2 floors over by the car dealerships. the last time I went to vetco was for coax because I didnt wanna deal with frys, they wouldn't sell me by the foot (they had a few spools) would only sell me pre-made cables or the whole spool so that's 30$ for a cable I cut the ends off or a 300$ spool. sigh.... and what ever happened to the older guy that worked there for years (in a wheelchair) thanks for the tip on http://www.talleycom.com never heard of them |

I don't know if you know this, but Warren, the owner of Whetco, is a family member of the original owners of Radar Electric. Which, now that I think about it, may be another source, but I don't know where they are anymore. I think they moved up north of Seattle somewhere. |
