I'm getting a loud throbbing noise floor when I listen to sno-com trunk. what is it? I'm guessing a multipath or simulcast overlap product? here's an audio clip http://h1.ripway.com/gregz/throbnoise.wav as the clip shows, it's not always the same frequency. it flanges between 10-20 times a second, my reciever was stationary. thanx, gregz |

Sounds like poor reception really. The sharpness of the static leads me to think the scanner is cutting out (something more local to the receiver). |

Greg, is your scanner near a cable modem? Cable modems have incredibly high EMI and can cause interference like that. |

It's a mobile scanner in a car, and I was stationary in the parking lot of Aurora Village Costco. it's on the Snohomish/King Co boarder on highway 99. There wasn't much around me, I was in the north end of the parking lot with the engine off. <shrug> pretty weird </shrug> |

Nextel, or AT&T. Quick test is to attenuate the signal, if the s/n ratio gets better your rx is getting swamped. Now figure out who.... |
