http://public.fairchild.amc.af.mil/skyfest2008.asp Anyone else going? USAF wrote: Skyfest 2008, Fairchild's airshow is scheduled for Aug. 9-10. Fairchild's gate will open to the public beginning at 9 a.m. The airshow is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. with flying ending at approximately 4 p.m. All events will end at 5:30 p.m.
Acts currently include the Blue Angels, Golden Knights, F-22 Demo Team, FireCat, Tim Weber, C-17 Demo, Mig Fury Fighters and an assortment of others. |

I'm giving serious consideration of going. Only about 100 miles for me to drive. I'd be up for coffee/lunch if anyone from the group is planning on attending. |

Not sure if I'm going yet. Might go on camping/ motorcycle thing. Anyone remember the incident(s) back in the 90's? Scanning nirvana, with the exceptions of the deaths. |

It would be nice to see the Angels fly in Spokane! I think this is the first time ever that they have been there! I, unfortunately, will be coming back from Spokane on the 7th, so I will have to watch, or listen, for the Angels on the radio when they are traversing between Seattle and Spokane. If you missed the F-22's when they were in Seattle, definitely go see them. They are really awesome to see in the air! The Angels arrive [here] early this next week. |

A week later or earlier that Airman shot up the hospital with the AK. Everything is still VHF over here. Simple is right. |

It means the kiddies can't use their FRS They don't want any spurious images on their multi million dollar systems I didn't see anything about plastic bottles that might be full of booize nor those nifty wine boxes. :beer: |

Not going, I have to work. "Everything is still VHF over here. Simple is right." I wholeheartedly agree with the above statement. Just will not be true for much longer I am afraid (as you'll recall)- Sheriff Ozzie got the local tax option for that must have Super-duper 700 system there are few details about. A county of <500K with trunked P25 system.....a sorry joke on the taxpayers in my opinion. |

The following is taken from the Washington Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan dated april 2008. Spokane/Kootenai Regional Emergency Communications System This project addresses the interoperability requirements of multiple jurisdictions and agencies in the north east corner of Washington. Spokane serves as a regional public safety hub for several Eastern Washington Counties, Northern Idaho, a part of Western Montana, Northeastern Oregon and some of Southern British Columbia. Public safety communications shortcomings addressed by this project are inadequate coverage, no interoperability between agencies and disciplines, antiquated equipment, insufficient spectrum, and a lack of long range strategic planning. This initiative will build the radio sites necessary to provide coverage for a 700 MHz P25 digital trunked radio system for the emergency responders of the region. The systems master controller integrates existing public safety radio systems utilizing various frequency bands and technologies. This project implements an advanced technology, spectrally efficient digital trunked radio system utilizing 700 MHz for voice and data. It will allow user transparent operation across various bands and systems and be the first stage of a region-wide 700 MHz P25 system.This project improves regional interoperability in a large metropolitan area. It directly supports the funding goals of PSIC grant by creating a spectrally efficient, advanced technology 700 MHz P25, digital trunked radio system that integrates existing radio systems utilizing various frequency bands. This project supports SCIP goals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 and state’s Technical Implementation Plan (TIP). Somewhere I had more information on the "First stage of a 700mhz state wide system." I'll post it when I find it. |

If ya go around on the south side of the base (outside the fence), you watch and listen to the fly overs w/o the crowd. Back in the 90's when the B-52's were there they would do 'bombing' demo's. |

Here's what was hopping on Friday, the Skyfest 2008 dress rehearsal day: AIR BOSS 120.35 (Fairchild Tower VHF) GOLDEN KNIGHTS 123.475 F15 DEMO 384.55 MIG DEMO 121.85 (Fairchild Ground VHF) TIM WEBBER 123.150 F22 / F15 HERITAGE DEMO 376.025 BLUE ANGELS 142.6125 - Comm Cart 237.8 - Solos? 275.35 - Box 2? 284.23 - Box 1? 305.5 - Fat Albert I never have figured out how the Blues channel changes during the show work... Non-airshow related comms heard today: 242.4 - Army helicopters in the area, not sure who they were. 251.9 - BLADE helos based at Fairchild doing some movements around the airshow activity. 311.0 - Fairchild CP with numerous incoming flights trying to squeeze in between acts. 350.025 - DHS CBP Customs AMD "HAMMER" with OMAHA 14J - Chris |
