UW has the same phrase on a few of their licences. A couple others I've seen from the UW:

  • APPLICANT IS A GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY (UNIVERSITY) AND WILL USE RADIOS TO COORDINATE STAFF
  • APPLICANT IS A UNIVERSITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION
  • Applicant is a unversity. Radios will be used to communicate with school employees during school hours and for emergency communications.
  • APPLICANT IS ENGAGED IN THE OPERATION OF A STATE UNIVERSITY. RADIOS WILL BE USED IN TEMPORARY AND RANDOM LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
  • APPLICANT IS IN THE EDUCATION BUSINESS. RADIOS WILL BE USED TO COORDINATE THESE ACTIVITIES.
  • COMMUNICATION BETWEEN STAFF AT SEPARATE BUILDING LOCATIONS
  • TEH UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON PROVIDES COMMUNICATIONS, SECURITY, AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE BOTHELL CAMPUS
  • WE ARE A PUBLIC COLLEGE AND WILL USE RADIOS TO COORDINATE OUR ACTIVITIES.
  • WE ARE IN THE EDUCATION BUSINESS AND WILL USE RADIOS TO COORDINATE OUR ACTIVITIES
  • WE ARE IN THE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS, AND WE WILL USE RADIOS TO BETTER COORDINATE OUR ACTIVITIES.

And my alltime favorite from ULS:

  • We are a golf course. We will use the radio to control our sprinkler system.

For that, I pictured a guy talking into a portable saying "Sprinkler ON"

Actually, there are some commercial sprinkler systems that use DTMF to control on and off, so instead of hearing them say "sprinkler on", you will likely hear them play Mary Had a Little Lamb
