Currently using 156.9 for coordination of data transfers Players Bayview / MRV / UHR or BHR

lost signal at 2.1 miles
32 sec to transfer 25 mg file
that was a double hopp

Thats... random.

How did Ft Flagler come into this? There is a USGS station there.

The base for the test is Ft Flagler. I assume they are in tents and big trucks. I'm still guessing mil but may be civil employees of the gov. I still can't figure why all the traffic is on the marine radio.

I doubt the Navy or any military entity would be using marine frequencies short of Coast Guard and Navy SAR. I also don't proclaim to know anything about this sort of thing!

Disclaimer issued.
If there was reference to Ft Flagler then it is probably the USGS site there. The fort itself is a state park. The parks service is on VHF but I can't see them doing anything with file transfers on marine VHF.
