Here in Martha Lake tonight while service searching the Military Air band my BCT15 stopped on 225.600 with fairly faint, VERY bizzare... (to the point of bordering on deranged) SINGING to some equally bizzare songs. A male singing YMCA... then the Supremes. Then I hear the back tracks for a bit. Then more singing. I'm DEFINTELY not catching some karaoke wireless. It's a one man show. I'm thinking I must be hearing some harmonic... BUT WHAT? In 20 years of listening to everything from DC to Daylight... this is the strangest thing I have ever heard. I've been listening for 15 minutes straight and this guy hasn't given it a rest. Confirmed on two different radios.

I've checked all possible harmonics and nothing. He just went from I Will Always Love You... to My Heart Will Go On. I honestly wish I was kidding about this, cause the fact that I'm listening to such musical abomination on a Friday night of a holiday weekend and admitting it in a public forum is actually quite embarassing. I'm absolutely stumped as to what this could be.... and when it comes to RF I can usually sniff it out. Now he's singing You Don't Bring Me Flowers. As fascinating as this is... even I have my tolerable limits.

That's scary... Air communication (mil comm and commercial) is AM because of the "no capture" effect. Imagine carrying on mission critical comms and all of a sudden they're wiped out with a steaming pile of "Crocodile Rock"... He's on to Elton John now.

MilAir may be AM but remember Fleetsatcom is FM. I've heard similar things on 250-270mhz which is in the Fleetsatcom downlink area. On occasion it would pick up studio-transmitter links in Manila & Brazil then rebroadcast them.

How about some of those 325mhz Filipino GMRS radios?
