Has anyone found talkgroups for FT Lewis Fire since the base went to a new trunked system? I know they go to many calls off base. Is it possible they went to a federal VHF channel instead of the new trunked system so they would not have to carry two radios? |

I've heard FLF on 8115, but that was just 'returning in service' stuff from a call prior to me listening, and chat between two chiefs. Have yet to listen to a whole call. |

Damn nice list! I had 8320 as 'Environmental Services'; that's the one with 'Responder Base', etc, right? Do you confirm Madigan security as 8549? Oh, and what's your take on 8807? Camp Murray? |

I have heard both MP and Madigan on 8549 - I suppose it could be Madigan Security. I haven't logged your Camp Murray TG at all. I have picked up Radio Maint on 8539 but do not know if they own it. These are my best guesses so far. |

dste and Wilrobnson (or nayone else), have you guys had any trouble monitoring Fort Lewis? I have been trying to monitor it with my BCD396T with a radio shack extendable attena. and I have never been able to monitor it clearly. It seems like I get a bit of the first transmission then it cuts out. I have tried scanning with all the freqs, with just the CC freqs, with playing with the P25 levels from auto, manual and default. with no luck. I usualy try to listen when either on i-5 or the Steliccom-Depunt road (which menas i am in my car, and i have never pulled over somewhere to listen). I am trying to figure out if it is a problem with my scanner itself or something else.Any ideas? |

This is what city parks are for...... Park and listen... I have no problem with my 396T before or after the v2 firmware upgrade. My antenna usually is the Rat-Shack 800 Duckie by default. |

Hey DSTE, where do you go? I use the east side of McChord, so I can listen to both UHF trunked systems, and watch planes....And zone out. |

I like the water so I usually pick the American Lake Park on the west side. Full strength sig for both systems. |

I used that spot today, and found it a great one, except the lack of reception on the east fill site- not really a big deal. Thanks |

Tizz nice to have the facilities available close by, and a good place to park and enjoy. |
