Effective today the Renton Fire Department has taken over for King County Fire District 40. District 40 Station 41 is now Renton Station 17. The old Renton Station 13 has been closed. District 40 Station 42 is now Renton Station 13. Additionally, Renton's annexation of the Benson Hill area takes effect today. That means Renton PD will now be patrolling the area, not the King County Sheriff. |

Did all Fire District 40 personnel transfer to Renton Fire as well? |

Yep. The Dist. 40 union merged with Renton's and all of the firefighters are now employees of the city of Renton. |
