Interesting; I thought about starting a thread asking just this.

FlashP--V and DV are... Voice/Data & Voice? So which ones are the control channels?

Also--I was wondering when the secondary and overflow channels are used (for EPSCA, KC/VC, and Seattle) and whether or not it's useful to program them in.

On occasion the control channel will change from its usual frequency to a secondary frequency so its always good to have both programmed in. A voice channel will usually be from a certain group of frequencies however on occasion all the frequencies will be in use so the system will use some additional "overflow" frequencies for voice traffic.

Well, I'm only saying that they're not in use by the control channel. They could be used by another system.

I've done several days of EPSCA monitoring (of control channel) and only the freqs I listed were being used. Obviously, they could be 'reserved' for emergency use only.

Do you really need EPSCA and Columbia Tower? If I remember right, I can listen to most Seattle Talk Groups on the EPSCA system?

Trunker reports three items:
C (CW id)
D or A (data/alternate = control channel)
V (voice)

A frequency can be used at different times for any of the three, if the system techs wish. Usually there are 2-4 control channels.

EPSCA seems only to use two at the moment. Of course that can change - but not too drastically, as the radios need to be programmed to know where to look when they power up.
