I noticed this last nite American Medical Response in Spokane is dispatching on:

152.4350 R (DPL065) 11K0F3E WPJZ996 Fancher/Beacon Hill.

This channel is licensed to Day Wireless. They are not simulcasting on 155.1750.

Repeated traffic is kind of a nice change. Welcome to 1975! Don't know if this is permanent or some back up channel because 155.1750 is down ....

Regardless, all their ops are here at least for the moment.

Yea, that's one thing about AMR that would bother me......no repeater. The dispatch is on a repeater so you can hear them everywhere, but the portables and mobiles they have don't get into the repeater, at least here in Yakima they don't.

Do you have a Freq and tone for AMR in Yakima by chance (I don't have that one)? Also what area of coverage they cover just Yak county or?

Best

AMR is on 155.220 with a PL of 85.4 They cover all of Yakima County and more heavily in the Lower Valley towards Toppenish, Wapato etc. than in the upper valley.

The upper valley is covered by a private ambulance company by the name of ALS (Advanced Life Systems). RX is 155.400 with a PL of 114.8. I've heard the TX on 152.XXX but I'm told that can't be right. All of their mobiles and portables are Kenwoods and they get into a repeater and do so quite well. The alpha-display on the radios even says, "ALS Repeater." They also have the capability of going anywhere in Yakima County.

Thanks for the info, I will add it to my list, much appreciated.

I checked out ALS' License, it lists 154.9800 as F-1, I know that does not particularly correlate to the radio head..... But, have you ever heard any thing on this freq?

Heres the Lic:
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSear ... ey=1292052\

As for AMR here, they are now simulcasting 155.175 (179.9) S and 152.4350 (D065) R .....

Yea I saw that on the FCC site. I haven't monitored that freq, but I'll start and let you know what I hear...

I was over in Spokane this last weekend and listened to the new AMR freq! It is cool to be able to hear everything including the units in the north part of the county. I didn't hear a peep on 155.175!

I know this is really big news to absolutely noone (even me) but AMR Spokane has Changed Frequencies again- to 157.6950 R (D065)

In October, AMR in Spocompton migrated dispatch perations from 155.1750 S (179.9) to 152.4350 R (D065) where they have been until this past week.

A few days ago, they flip-flopped the input and output of that machine- the repeater output is now 157.6950 R (D065) 11K0F3E WPJZ996.

I am venturing a guess that they did this because of the 152.4350 is subject to a ton of intermod from pagers anther non-voice co-channel/image garbage - especially downtown.

From time-to-time, intermod would saturate the hi-tech new repeater and turn it into an wonderful inter-mod repeater but good for little else like dispatching ambulances to folks who might need one.

155.175 S (179.9) is now referred to Channel-2 and was used during the flip-flop reprogramming exercise.

Some of the medics are using 9-Code which is interesting. Must be from the recent influx of Oakland Medics.

Permanent? Who knows ,but, I'll keep this one palpated (haha)and ahhemm...914 if anything else changes.

I was just over this last weekend and was wondering why I didn't hear anything on the 152 freq! Is the new 157 frequency licensed to Day Wireless also?

What is the extent of AMR's role in the Spokane area? Are they strictly doing BLS transports or are they providing ALS paramedic services in the City of Spokane/Greater Spokane area?

I'm not too familiar with how their setup is. I would assume a fire department as old as the City of Spokane would have their own ALS resources, coupled with the fact that the Spokane firefighters union is well run and well established. I wouldn't think they would let a private provider/for-profit company operate within their system (beyond BLS transport).

Just curious...

AMR is the contracted ALS provider for the greater Spokane area, and I believe that each unit has at least one paramedic. Spokane and a few other fire departments operate an ALS response, and the firefighter-paramedics have the option to ride in the ambulance and maintain control of the patient, which results in a lower fee structure for the patient.

Some union activists apparently want the ambulance service pulled into the fire house with all firefighter-paramedics, but the expense of the additional firefighter-paramedics and officers is presumed to crimp the city financially.

AMR is currently in hot water over the "lower fee structure", as a number of people were overcharged the difference between the 'ALS by Firefighter' vs 'ALS by AMR' paramedic. This apparently occurred because AMR altered it's billing offices in California, and oversight of this local idiosyncracy was dropped. All affected patients recieved a refund and, I assume, an apology, and the billing oversight was repaired. Punitive actions continue against AMR.

Just before I moved from Spokane, Spokane Fire was replacing their utility type (just think Squad 51) Medic Units with new ones that appeared to have the ability to transport. Are they doing so on some limited basis?

Yes indeed the channel is still owned by Day Wireless; they just inverted the input and output. I guess it would be poor form to say that it appears to be contrary to the license so I won't mention it.

Another motivation for moving off of 155.1750 might be the fact that Bluewood Ski Resort in Dayton has been booming into Spokane, full quieting at times, with all sorts of neat-o Ski-Resorty Traffic.

Ski Bluewood 155.1750 R (136.5) Ski Hill Operations - Dayton, Columbia County, WA WPEY20
