I am planning a trip to the Birch Bay and Ferndale areas in Whatcom County in the near future. Does anyone have any frequencies for those areas which may be different than those listed in the Intercept directories? I would be interested in Law Enforcement, Fire and Aid. Also, any frequencies for the state park service.
Also, being that close to the lower BC mainland I would be interested in any frequencies for that area as well. It is my understanding however, that these types of communications are either digital or encrypted for the lower mainland. Is this correct?
Many thanks,
Gampawayne

Most of the Whatcom County frequencies in the Intercept db are pretty accurate.

As for the BC Lower Mainland, Police & EMS are M/A Com ProVoice digital, Fire is analog. From Birch Bay/Ferndale area, you should have no problems picking up Surrey & Delta FD on the EDACS system.

You should also be able to pick up some Police & EMS from the eastern Fraser Valley:

Abbotsford PD
Dispatch - 142.965
Info - 143.190

RCMP
Chilliwack Dispatch - 139.350
Chilliwack Info - 139.590
Fraser Valley Traffic West - 139.320
Fraser Valley Traffic East - 139.380
Mission Dispatch - 139.560

BC Ambulance Service
Mission/Abbotsford - 149.440
Chilliwack/Agassiz - 149.680

Fire Departments
Surrey FD - 154.310 (EDACS Simulcast)
Langley FD - 171.660
Abbotsford FD - 154.890
Mission FD - 173.655
Chilliwack FD - 154.190
Maple Ridge FD - 410.1125

I could find you some more, but this should give you plenty of listening on top of the Whatcom County stuff

Just double checked this, http://www.interceptradio.com/interceptnw/whatcom.htm and everything looks up to date, with the exception of the apparatus numbers for fire. You will also be able to pick up RCMP on Vancouver Island.

453.325 Tone should be (85.4) Whatcom Co Sheriff

453.335 Tone should be (91.5) Bellingham Police
