Are you guys seeing TG 272 on that site? I saw on the main Tacoma site while down at the meeting, but couldn't find anything listed for it...

272 is the VHF "law scan" , at least that's what I call it. It scans WSP, PCSO and smaller towns PD I turned it off as it is constant.

I just heard someone on Tac 45072 talking to Puyallup Dispatch about an unruly person in the Puyallup Walmart.
And No it was not encrypted.
I just heard Medic 3 on 45072, so it must be a Fire Tac channel, also they identified themselves as "Walmart Command";

Yes, that is Puyallup Fire Tac 3 - Also known as A4. The "A" things are just the location of the talkgroup on their radios. Bank A Channel 4

I am getting talkgroup 45072 intermitently with no voice just data noise. Not the control channel noise. It is bothersome since it keeps stopping on it. I am using a pro 97 in open mode. maybe I will reset and reprogram it to see if it will fix it. anybody else seeing this result

I get the data noise with my BR330T but I can hear them talking with the BCD396T. The display shows P25/lnk next to the frequency.

I know same here. I was asking Curt - because the 396 can't listen to P25 while in Type II mode.

If this were true I would hear nothing on McChord. I think something else might be turned on like DCS/CT decode or something else along this line. Tacoma/Puyallup is Type II motorola 800 trunking with the 4xxxxx groups being digital and easiest to ENC.

I really don't know much about P25 and haven't changed anything with the digital or P25 settings.
Here is how my 396 is set up. I use bcTool to program the 396. Under System Properties, Type is set to "Motorola 800mhz Type 2 Standard". Apco Threshold is set to "Auto & 0". In Radio Settings, under APCO Settings, APCO Mode is set to "AUTO" and Threshold is set to "5".
When listening to 45072 next to the frequency display, "P25" would alternate with "lnk".

Very odd. Are you guys running the V3 firmware?

When I was in Boise (on V2 firmware), I programmed that system as Type II by mistake - and I got zilch. I re-programmed it back to P25 and it worked like a charm.

I guess the Type II mode must also have a hybird Type II/P25 capability. Very interesting.

The Boise system is a P25 system, whereas the Tacoma/Puyallup system is a Type II. A scanner can't decode a P25 control channel with the Type II "rules" and vice versa.
