State (155.97) and Car channels will stay analog and have gone narrowband. BTW.

RX setup is an SDR with a 800 Mhz 5/8 over 1/4 NMO mount cut and crimped to a BNC, with R820T2 SDR. Antenna is in the window. ...So.. no gain.. no elevation.. :D

Tacoma IWN site must be local/IR because I'm about 10 miles from downtown and nothing....

700 (WSP/DOT)from Tacoma is carrying N and S KC traffic, but not Tacoma traffic.

IWN site 8 (enumclaw) is primarily S king.

I'm picking up IWN site 01-40 (171.6125) (Valleycom) carrying wsp south king TGs.

Haven't been able to hear south king on vhf conv for awhile, but hear north king patched to VHF P25 conv. all the time...

Can't find any Tacoma units on anything but VHF conv.

Side note..... CBP TGs near Blaine seem encrypted part time. Seems dispatcher is in the clear with other units being encrypted, although I did hear a couple field units in the clear...

It's almost like someone changed the values in the codeplug so if someone duplicated it TO TRANSMIT it wouldn't do so well..

Hmmmm...

:D

I guess someone could leave out the tx freqs if they were that worried about it....

Did they go to a repeater on the conventional side?

No. Though it might sound as though when someone is on the TRS or IWN it is patched through to the VHF conventional and be "repeated" in that fashion. Technically the VHF is there for interop with other districts who are not on a trunked system.

Yeah, I know the options. There've been rumors for years that District 1 would go to repeaters, along with new licenses (like Gold Mtn WQVY423), so I'm curious if it all came at once.

Running linked systems is complicated enough, but if one of them is simplex/remote base, it's really ugly. Users won't like having to wait for the carrier to drop.

So does this mean all WSP dispatch in WA State is P25 now?
