Are you able to connect to the scanner? Have you uploaded the programming from the file to the scanner via Freescan? If all is working well, the scanner will give a description of who you're listening to. I'm not sure what's in that file so I can't offer up any explanations as to what the various acronyms mean.

Just upload Snohomish county and unlock everything. Here I did it for you, upload the attached file and tell FreeScan to erase everything else when you upload it.

Here, this is as simple as it gets.

Attachment:
SERS_West.996 [27.76 KiB]
Downloaded 74 times

Download the attached Freescan file. It contains JUST the SERS West system. Make sure to select the check box that says "Erase all systems and settings" in the upload dialog box.

Under system #1 I have 8 different groups programmed as follows:

1. SNOCOM Fire
2. SNOPAC Fire
3. Everett Fire
4. Snohomish County Sheriff
5. Everett Police
6. SNOCOM Police
7. Marysville Police
8. Miscellaneous

All 8 Groups are unlocked by default.
You can lock/unlock each group by holding the Function key and pressing the corresponding group number. For example, Fnc+4 would lock/unlock the Snohomish County Sheriff group. And within each Group there are Talk Groups which can be locked/unlocked individually also. If you thumb through the programming within Freescan you will see that I have certain Talk Groups locked out within a Group. For example, within the #4 SCSO Group I have all of the SCSO Talk Groups programmed but I only have SCSO South and the TAC Talk Groups unlocked. The other SCSO Talk Groups locked out because I don't care to listen to them all the time, BUT they are there in case I do decide I want to listen for one reason or the other.

Make sure you unlock what you want before you upload it to the scanner.

Also, if you want to only listen to one particular talkgroup, press HOLD while scanning and then rotate the knob until you've found the one you want.

Great to see you have it up and running and able to connect to FreeScan. I'd install the full Rodentkj file that I linked up above. That file will get you the following systems loaded. Key numbers turn systems on/off. Your top side button (Func) turns groups on/off. You've no doubt figured that out.

1 Sno Co TRS West
2 Sno Co TRS East
3 King County Fire
4 King County PD
5 Seattle Simlcast
6 WA State Patrol
7 Boeing Trunk
8 CB FRS GMRS

Depending on where you live in Everett you should be able to hear the Seattle systems. I don't have any problem with a RS 800 mhz antenna from 7 miles N. of Monroe. Have fun!..... :D

I'm redoing my whole scanner file so the TG's are better labeled. If you want to know when I'm done with it let me know.
