OPSCAN is not some type of "scanning radio system".
If that is in response to what I said, sorry- thats not what I meant...

No. But some of the old boy experts, like myself, do need some help sometime, from others like you that know what OPSCAN means. Thanks for your help. MTM

Also watch for the NWRIC (Northwest Radio Interoperability Committee) coming soon to the north counties. The NWRIC idea was spawned from a FY2008 $7 Mil regional federal PSIC grant, . . . also with some WSP microwave involved. The project was first coined as the "Son of OpSCAN". Similar in thought process, but rather includes San Juan, Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and a connection to Snohomish county too. Will include some crossband (800, VHF, UHF) repeaters up in Whatcom along the I-5 corridor.

Skagit and Island will soon finish their new (155 megabit) microwave installs, but had one last delay to overcome on South Whidbey, waiting for a nesting Osprey to naturally vacate (migrate away) from the Cultas Bay tower. Both Skagit and Island seek to interconnect each others tower sites using an IP protocol, (read: MPLS).

SnoMars is also up now too on 453.350 and of course on the old 153.770. A separate third VHF channel will follow in 2011 for WSP patching into the SERS 800Mhz system.
