So what do you think of the Uniden BCT15? This looks like a sweet unit. Seems to do everything I would want it to do for this area. And it does LTR. The whole LTR thing isn't that important but I like to know whats going on there at work before i go in when the weather is like it has been lately. But anyways, what do you think about this scanner?

It's definitely a popular scanner 'round here. I have the same scanner--but the handheld and digital version, and I like it, though I am a bit jealous of the PSR-500 (I'd buy one if it went on a diet, the thing is huge). The only thing with the Uniden DMA scanners is they pretty much expect you to know the LCNs for a trunked system.

Ya i was thinking about a digital. But that seems like it would be a waste of money. Doesnt sound like any of the dept's around here will be upgrading anytime soon. So digital would be a waste of $$ wouldnt it?

Probably. There are some sites for the IWN up north, and you may be able to pick up the border patrol depending on where you are. They're digital, but the 396/996 won't decode NACs.
