>is that I pick up WSP on like 15 frequency's in bellevue

That's the deal if you are in King county you have to lock out Sno/Skag/What/Jeff/Kitsap/S Sea/Tac/E Pier/oly dispatch all of which you can hear easy from bellevue.

Mark -- The two 453 mhz pairs along with most of the 460 Mhz pairs are used for MCN --MDT's. The system is also a voice back-up system / low powered mobile repeater channel. The WSP and DOT share 4 460 mhz -- 2 watt freqs for low powered mobile repeaters -- as well. As the local areas move over to full duplex repeaters on VHF, the need and use of "mobile extenders" is gone. Portables can just be tuned to the local Area dispatch channel. The 453 / 460 Mhz channels are now almost only used for Mobile data use.

The previously referenced 151.025 is for one of the crossband repeaters that allow WSP to talk to the DOT units (who are on 800 MHz). They also use 151.04, 151.115, 156.12 in various places - I haven't got them all nailed down.

Flash, My understanding is that they are dropping use of some of the Old DOT VHF channels -- and only one and maybe two will remain for cross-band patching -- which will allow for re-use of at least 3 of the 5 Old VHF channels. It might end up that the WSP could add a new pair -- just for use in the North Seattle area -- from I-90 North to the Sno County line and West of Lake Washington. They could use a repeater downtown. 151.025 might-- MIGHT -- end up as a new WSP "Area" channel. If you live or drive through King County --- I would program in the 151.025 and give a listen.

Thanks, good to know. 156.12 was still active last week for North Bend; I usually listen during snow season.

So If I might be driving one or two miles over the limit and didn't want a ticket, and I had the input side 458/465 freq's in I would hear if a WSP was close and how close by signal. Right? Did I just invent a CloseCall for WSP? I'm hoping the MDT's don't put out 90 W's. Remember I live rural, I'm not thinking downtown Seattle.

the bct15 will "alarm you" if it picks up things like that.

Sort of. The 453.475, 453.925 and a few 460 Mhz are now just data --so you would just hear a very SHORT -- burp - once in awhile. The 453.475 and 453.925 are still licenced for voice operations. 151.1075, 151.1225, and 460.0875, 460.2625, 460.3875, and 460.4875 are all reserved --just for 2.5 watt mobile extenders. One of those 6 channels might give you a better voice signal. The CHP only uses one frequency -- statewide -- 154.905 with just 2 watts. And yes, it works like a "close call" system. If you hear anything on that channel -- it's comming from a nearby unit. When a unit makes a traffic stop, you hear the unit "turn on" the mobile extender - over the air.

But if you hear your plate over the air, it's already too late.

151.115 is the input for WSP's 154.680 (R) freq in Seattle.

When I mentioned that 151.025 was the output of Seattle North that was from a Kenwood TK-790 mobile radio that was in a WSP car. Channel name was Seattle-North.

Is this the actual channel or are they using it specifically as a 800mhz link?

WSP Seattle North is 155.58/100.0 out, 158.79/100.0 in from Squak Mtn. Used for north King County including I-90 to the pass.

Maybe a link to the DOT system for areas north of Seattle?

No. 151.025 is being reserved for WSP use -- just not as a WSP / DOT link

And if you hear the phrase "Title Ten" in the same sentence as your plate, you know it is time to RUN
