I didn't see any MBITRs there.
I have never seen a "small" MBITR.

I was playing with one the other day that reminded me of that radio, except for the low-band antenna and handset. Aren't they both made by the same English company?

I think Thales makes MBITR's, but I also think that, similar to P25, MBITR can be multi-vendor platform.

From what I have heard, some MBITRs will go up into the VHF/UHF range but I think originally were lo band units.

I do know that lo-band does NOT propagate well in the type of building construction used in Iraq/Afghanistan. I heard from soldiers who said they could not go through walls, and then proceeded to describe 12" thinck cement type construction as the norm.

UHF has worked out real well.

It seems you will need a digital scanner to listen to fire tac 3. I dont have any info on the rebanding time frame. I also have been hearing Puyallup Engines now speaking with dispatch on TG 00496. (no digital) as of yesterday............FYI Still waiting to hear what is a good digital scanner between GRE and radio shack. Dont know if I can talk myself into spending $ 500.00 though. Maybe a less expensive pro 96 ???

Don't know if it's a great scanner, but I ordered a Pro-197 this weekend using the F&F coupon for a $200 savings. It is the PSR-600 repackaged in a RS model, so win500 will work for programming. I will let everyone know how it works out. Both the 106 and 197 are still on sale for $399.

I have looked at this message board a long time
I programmed the 2052 scanner to hear lakewood wa and could hear a little traffic and then I went oh my this not right
My dad lives about 1000 ft from a huge tower , which puts out more power then my little pro 2052 can manage
I was wondering if anyone was picking lakewood or dupont from the site on Mcneil island or should I just make my 87 yr old father move . :)
Thanks for any info Jack
