seems they didn't learn about this 12 years ago when these things hit the market big... they also didnt drive around their own facility about 3 years ago to see they were broadcasting internal feeds. AHHH ICOM bring back the IC-R3 so we can find out if we are secure or not! people might be watching us!!! oh wait... no one cares. (BTW its easy to hack your IC7000 to do this)

KOMO here is a better story, most people still use old ass 53mhz cell phones from 1980 and those are the same people who buy things over the phone still, and didnt hear about amazon.com ....easy credit card gathering!!

yea ...turns out we are only as secure as the society that we trust just because I can SPY on my neighbors kid don't mean that I am that creepy that I want to. I hate story's like this because it makes it sound like we are all as bad as we can be... sigh.. I mean seriously if I really had it out for my neighbors I would just tap the phone the good old way.. who looks at that box on the side of the house every month? then pull the 48v off the telco run it thru a bridge rectifier and put my FRY's wireless camera sneeky into your living room window under the eve of your house! oh sorry that was the creepy part.

I will prop you KOMO for getting security mostly correct in saying that "spread spectrum" or "frequency hopping" is a secure way to protect your self (from john.q.public)... today muwahahaha

KGW down here in 1995 or so once did a story where they went to Home Depot, bought some universal garage door opener remotes and started driving around neighborhoods. They would click the remote at random houses and of course like 1 of 50 houses on a street, would open. The story failed to mention these houses had a garage opener that was just so old that it didn't use a code.
