As far I as I remember and that's going on 20 years, it was 7 & 11 that had some issues.
Yeah. I remember when I started with Dist 11 and was learning the "politics". The paid guys were not big fans of Dist 7 for one reason or the other. I don't recall the real grunt of the issue. But as the years went by the tension seemed to ease.
FireDawg89 reminded me of the staffing at 11 when I joined.
Station 1 (now 11) 3 people total. At night, 18:00 to 06:00 it was two paid and 1 "sleeper" as we called it.
Station 2 (now 12) 2 people total. At night, 18:00 to 06:00 it was one paid and 1 "sleeper".
Station 3 (now 13) 2 people total. At night, 18:00 to 06:00 one paid and maybe one sleeper. It just depended on if three volunteers signed up for that day. Most of use did not like to work that station because it hardly got any calls. If no one signed up then the station would have just one paid person and would have to wait for a volunteer if that station got a call.
Hard to believe that the whole district was covered by six people total on shift. By the time I left the dept we had Medics. That ended the medic mutual aid with Everett but started a new contract with Muk.
Enough ranting......
