WHEERS is the name that is used in Washington that largely encompasses MEDCOM channels.

It is built out in both Eastern and Western WA.

Be sure to monitor all 10 freqs.
WHEERS utilizes most of them at different sites throughout the state.

I haven't listened in a while so I couldn't cite specific freqs...

Most hospitals in Central Washington use 155.340. Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake advises their medic units to use cell phone, instead of the radio.

You might hear MedStar or some of the other Helo type air transports on there. They use 462.975 in Spokane and I believe they have a helo stationed out at Grant County Airport. If I remember, I believe I heard they use 462.950 overthere but you will have to check them. I have heard them talking to Spokane from the Moses Lake area.

The helicopter was pulled from Moses Lake about a year and a half ago. MedStar says is was not feasible.

You can hear the medic unit calling Othello and Ephrata once in awhile. The out of area medic unit will call Samaritan on the radio. Just the local ones use cell phones.
