I haven't been able to monitor PSOPS S1 using my Radio Shack Pro-94.

My trunking scanner is configured to the Columbia Tower frequencies. I can receive East Tac (3 344) and all the talkgroups from 1000 to 9000, as far as I know.

When I try to use the keypad to select 62 992 (PSOPS S-2) I get error tones.

Are these talkgroups present on the Columbia tower control channel 868.175? Is the Pro-94 capable of listening to them?

Thanks for any help.

I see you put a space in the Talk Group ID's (TGID) when you typed them on here. Did you enter them with a space when you entered them into the scanner? They should read 3344 as opposed to 3 344 or 62992 as opposed to 62 992. The PSOP TG's (North and South) are receivable on the Seattle TRS (Columbia Tower). If you are getting an error beep, then you have more than likely exceeded the aloted space acceptable for entering data or entered an incorrect character.

Nope, I'm only entering digits. The Pro-94 displays the space of its own accord, and I transcribed that.

What I am pushing is:
MAN,6,2,9,9,2,E
and I have tried
MAN,6,2,9,9,2,MAN
and:
PROG,6,2,9,9,2,PROG

They all display as 62 992 but don't work. BTW, the pro-94 has room for maximum XX YYY digits.

Can anybody confirm #1 that PSOPS talkgroups are on the Columbia Tower control channel?

PSOPS should be carried on Columbia; it's the primary site. I have a PRO-94 at home, if you don't get this resolved by 1500 or so today I'll try duplicating it.

ETA- Shouldn't the sequence of key presses be: PROG-6-2-9-9-2-MAN?
trying to remember...

Yes it is...

I've heard it on Col Twr, EPSCA, and KC control channels... my guess is that the dispatchers have some control over this TGID - when there's a major incident (like yesterday.)

I thought it could be the security bit, but:
* Usually if I "tune" a secured TGID, I get that ID on the display, but silence.
* I can't seem to set it to any of the high-numbered TGIDs not just PSOPS S1

BTW, I was monitoring east radio Halloween night, that is why I was so interested in PSOPS S1 yesterday. I'm glad it all worked out for SPD. I do hope that we are going to be hearing (not hearing?) better operational security in the SPD transmissions from now on.

Wilrobnson, if you are able to see how your Pro-94 works, I would be glad to hear your results. Thanks, man.

Does the Pro-94 ignore the status bit? I don't have one, so I don't know.

Quite often, the PSOPS channels are patched to something else - changing the status bit. Perhaps the scanner isn't seeing the TG because of the patching/emergency status/multi-select or other setting that affects the status bit?

Brad.

Mine's working fine.

I'm going to a blank spot in the talkgroup list, and keying
prog-6-2-9-9-2-enter-manual

It also works when replacing another talkgroup already in the list.

Thanks, Wilrobson! I guess it has been about 5 years since I programmed this radio. :
