I was watching CBC last night and they had a drill at the new command center in Whatcom Co. Maybe they switched over

They've been testing the IWN system this week. There is the possibility of traffic going back over after today.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they switched everyone over to encrypted digital under the Olympic Games excuse, and you know they wouldn't go back to analog afterwards...

No matter, now that the US/Canadian Border feels like the Berlin Wall, I give up on trying to cross.

The Peace arch monument reads:
U.S. side of the Peace Arch reads "Children of a common mother", and the words on the Canadian side read "Brethren dwelling together in unity". Within the arch, each side has an iron gate hinged on either side of the border with an inscription above reading "May these gates never be closed".

Well it looks like the gates have been closed. 2010 olympics or not.

This 9/11 incident has really screwed the inocent in more ways than one instead of the guilty... that includes radio communications

I was in Spokane yesterday and monitored 163.775. Analog and clear as a bell! Needless to say I was a little suprised.

You can still cross the border...you just don't want to. I cross it two to 3 times a year. Sounds open to me.
