Thanks for having these, it was a lot of fun today watching them and also hearing them talk to each other. The lead pilot was almost singing.....

Did anyone catch any radio activity prior to the practice starting? I started monitoring around 11am and there was nothing until about 1pm or so...

Until they get control of the airspace (no takoff's until then) you will only hear traffic on the comcart frequency. I haven't heard if they changed that freq today.

One funny think i heard on Sunday was when Fat Albert was holding over Elliot Bay. Fat Albert is flown by a Marine Corp crew. When they released FA to start the show the pilot exclaimed "Marine Corp. Siempre Fie." I dont know why, but i got a kick out of that.

When the Blue Angels are practicing for a show, you will see #7 used instead of #4 for some photo hops and training for the pilots that were selected for next years team. I believe there are 3 new pilots coming on board next year.

This year they brought in 2 FA 18's with the # 7 on the tails and one of them went to Salinas, CA on Monday with the regular #7 pilot along with a support staff rider and the other left with the rest of the team Tuesday with the regular back seater, Lt. Amy Tomlinson (#8) flying that one along with another support staff rider.

I finally got my photos up. Only 3. And they don't compare to Mark's awesome shot. I tried getting up to the observation deck for Columbia Center earlier, but it was at capacity so I didn't get in until just before they stopped practicing.

Anybody else listen to the Blues leave on Tuesday. I posted to PDXMilCom the freq's. Lots of talking. About 12 minutes out one plane reported he got tingley and was on emerg Ox. They all came down. I was wondering if they all stopped in Portland for repair. I did hear #8 state on the kiro b'cast that they had the C's and all the fighter guys had the A's and B's. That they made them work. I don't remember so much maint. stuff before this year.
