The Snohomish County (Wash.) Police Staff and Auxiliary Service Center (SNOPAC) signed a contract to license New World Systems’ public-safety software to replace an outdated system and streamline emergency response for 12 police and 24 fire and EMS agencies. The new system will improve communications and information sharing between SNOPAC and nearby Southwest Snohomish County Communications Agency (SNOCOM), officials said.
“The growth we’ve experienced over the past 20 years has merged our jurisdictions into one suburban area, and the criminal element crosses between our city lines every day,” said Deputy Chief Greg Lineberry of the Everett Police Department, one of the largest agencies in SNOPAC. “We needed a new system that would allow us to gather and share intelligence quickly across all jurisdictions.”
The agencies selected new records management, fire records, mobile computing and corrections software. An integrated database will make it easier for SNOPAC and SNOCOM to communicate and work together to better serve more than 650,000 residents of Snohomish County.
