I noticed yesterday while driving past McChord AFB to Bellevue that I wasn't receiving the UHF trunked system there. I didn't have time to stop and check it out, but just noticed today some other folks were complaining about the same problem.

Anyone in the area able to check and see what's up with McChord? Either there was a change in the control channel frequency that I didn't have in the radio, or perhaps the rumors of McChord jumping on the 380 MHz DoD networked system may have come true...

Wednesday at the latest, depending on how soon the Subaru dealer gets done milking the "labor" portion of my repairs.

This could be related to the merger of Lewis-McChord Joint Base. ?

I can receive the Ft Lewis TRS . I'll set up a wildcard or 2. Would they use separate tg's for MP or combine them?

I can still hear the Mc Cord CC of 407.1625 138.46 is the CT

Well, there's my problem. I didn't have this frequency in the radio, so thus no control channel and no trunking.

ah so, ok. I never monitor Mc Chord but surprisingly it's there. I can get a 50% hit on the CC so I may assign it a scan list on the 197. I didn't do a custom table as I was able to just select p25 auto as I did with the Ft Lewis system and let it run

You'll have to do the table, as it's not a P25 system. It's still a Motorola type II if you are seeing a connect tone...

ok, I'll see what happens. win500 has the option of a hi, lo, base in addition to the step offset and base, so I'll have to figure those out too

Just got back from an insomnia-fueled run to McChord, as some of you got pages about.

CC was on 407.1625, and Security police were on the usual TG of 41552 dealing with something at the Main Gate. Also heard Airfield Maintenance on 41808 crossing the runways for something.

Fort Lewis' 380 TRS was, as always, strong and clear, and I did not notice any McChord traffic on it. MPs and DOD cops on 8107, and yakking it up on 8103. Someone was playing at surveillance or just (more likely) screwing around on 8840.

My mystery freq, 406.500 (NAC 293) was also running full tilt, with 100% encryption.
