CPFR took over in the City of Puyallup as of 1/1/09. The Puyallup station numbers changed from 1, 2, and 3 to 71, 72, and 73. CPFR uses Tacoma Fire for dispatch services, and is toned out on 156.240 with responses on 154.160. But the former Puyallup stations are at this point still being toned out on 153.890 by the City of Puyallup and use 55120 on the Tacoma and Puyallup trunked systems as a response talkgroup. Effectively you have the CPFR stations in Puyallup operating as though they're a separate department from the rest of CPFR, being dispatched on a different channel and using an entirely different radio system for responses.

I'm baffled as to what's going on there. My assumption is that this will get cleared up sooner or later, but that they just didn't have time to get everything squared away between the 11/08 election and 1/1/09. Still, for now at least, it's weird.

Yes, this is all a joke in Pierce County now...

Stn 4 is 70, yup, same as Boeing! Go figure.

TFD takes over for Puyallup on April 1. Maybe...

So this seems like this is really getting confusing. Puyallup is now served by Central Pierce but are still dispatched by Puyallup? And now Pierce County has two stations assigned the number 70. I saw the point of trying to get all the numbers in Pierce County the same, but they either all should have been changed or nothing should have been changed. Seems like the whole mess started with East Pierce/Bonney Lake changing their numbers all the time.
