I recently heard a couple of unit designators on AMR F1 (155.22) that I hadn't heard before, both were responding to MCI events, at different times.

The units were Charlie 15 and Sierra 5. I'm used to AMR using 3 digit designators for their units so the alpha designators were a surprise.

I'm guessing the Sierra unit is a Supervisor?

Anyone have some info?

Thanks.

Sierra Units are indeed supervisors. Charlies Units are Crew Chiefs: Crew Chiefs are still in the union, and provide backup to the supervisors.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm thinking of applying with AMR this winter, so I can rack up a load of patient contacts prior to applying to paramedic school, so I leave 'em in the scanner and listen pretty often.

pretty much all of the ambulance services are hiring, but AMR and Rural are both union shops, and wages and benefits tend to be significantly better. Good Luck. John
