What an awesome day today!!!

Joey Weedin arranged a tour of the WSDOT/WSP communications center today in Union Gap. Very low key. 3 dispatchers on duty. 1 for WSDOT and 2 for WSP. (They are in adjoining rooms.) The 2 WSP dispatchers worked side by side. One dispatcher for the 155.520 and the other for 154.920. The WSDOT center is open 24/7. This particular center dispatches for everything east of the Cascades, except Spokane. The Wenatchee WSDOT comm center is staffed M-F, 8-5, so after hours and weekends everything runs through Yakima.

I took a few photos and once I get them off the camera I will upload them for all to see.

(Thanks to Joey for getting us in there!)

Is that your cousin Joey ?? I hear that the Yakima Dispatch Centers are "cutting edge" High tech - state of the art. I can tell. They have a HP722C inkjet printer -- just like mine. LOL

Did they turn that one monitor at the WSP console 90 degrees on end?

Some people use that type of monitor for publishing en such. Its built to do that...

Funny they use Positron phone system then have a second phone on the console.
