Today about 7:10 pm, Sheriff Dispatch told the Lakewood units with the 800 mhz radio equipment to get ready for a test. So I went to the Mcneil tower site, and I was getting no control channel. So I then went to the Tacoma TRS and scanned and on talkgroup 1072 a LESA dispatcher had two Lakewood officers test first their portables and then their car radios. They did a test count, "test 1,2,3,4,5. said some sentences and did some mic clicks.
It sounded really clear to me. The test lasted about 4 min. About 7:14 the dispatcher said Lakewood 800 mhz testing complete.

So everyone scanning, and keep a listen for LPD if they go fully live with their trunked system. Anyone have any info when they will go fully live? Thanks -Louie--

Ok guys, I have been talking to a Tacoma Police dispatcher, and she told me this in a message "A bit of info hot off the press ... Lakewood PD is now 800 .. :) as of 8/3/08 0600"

NOTE: I found that Lakewood Police Dispatch is on the Tacoma TRS and on
talkgroup 1040.
