I was scanning there regular northern channels the past few days and noticed that I wasnt hearing anything from them.
I switched off thier ctcss tones and to my surprise P25 digital noise is now coming from thier channels 163.625/163.675.
both channels are now clear P25 digital.
so for those of you that dont have a P25 scanner your outa luck listening to them anymore :(
luckly there are afew of us that do.

An update from Central Washington ... I am still hearing US Border Patrol on analog. Have not heard P25 traffic yet. Will keep monitoring. (I am glad I work for a 2-way shop and can hear the P25 traffic.)

Guess I can't listen to them unless I'm working since I can't afford a digital scanner. Blaine, Lynden, and Sumas PD's use the Border Patrol Freq as well. :(

Is the P25 encrypted?

Most of the traffic is unencrypted at this point.

as far as Ive heard so far, it all unencrypted P25 comms that you can listen to with a P25 digital scanner.

and yes unfortunately you wont be able to listen to blaine, sumas or lynden pd units unless you invest in a p25 scanner.

Maybe the Federal government will send us a coupon for $40.00 to help buy a digital
scanner like they do for the digital switch on TV next year. :bowrofl:

Put me down for at least two.

I concur, Spokane Sector DHS/CBP-OBP still analog.

Heard Pasco earlier today and hearing Met Falls, Oroville, and Curlew right now.

No unidentified testing heard or indications of change noted recently.

Will continue to monitor.
