The FCC is affected. The license search is down as of this date and time.
Impact on FCC operations Due to the shutdown, the FCC website carries a notice that most functions are paused, with key services being affected. Suspended services:
Processing new applications and licenses. Resolving consumer complaints. Enforcement actions, with the exception of emergency issues. Non-essential transactions and other filings. Accepting payment for application and regulatory fees.
Limited operations and extensions:
The FCC's website will remain online, but most information will not be updated. Emergency services: The FCC Operations Center will remain staffed to handle emergencies that affect public safety. Limited online systems: Several key systems will continue to be accessible for certain filings, including the Network Outage Reporting System (NORS) and the Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS). The Broadband Data Collection (BDC) system and the Robocall Mitigation Database also remain active, though without staff support. Filing deadlines: For most matters, filing deadlines that fall during the shutdown period will be extended. Submissions will be due the next business day after the FCC resumes normal operations. Universal Service Fund (USF): The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), which is not a federal agency, will continue to operate its programs. Providers must still meet all USF-related deadlines.
