Officer-involved Shooting 07/22/2020 at 1847 hours - Tumwater Safeway
Tumwater Police are on scene at Safeway on Cleveland Ave. There was a subject on the phone with the FBI that was threatening suicide. The subject is armed with a knife and a gun and in his vehicle. Officers are blocking off the area and crisis negotiators are being dispatched.
Update: Subject tried to run over a police officer with his pickup truck. Shots have been fired by the police. The subject is responsive but he is believed to have a wound to the head. The gun is in his lap. All roads in the area, including Capitol Blvd, have been shut down. SWAT Team now arriving on scene. Stay out of this area.
Olympia PD, Lacey PD, Thurston County Sheriff, and WSP Troopers are on scene or in route. Medics are staged across the street.
