Your 911 call may not go through. A nationwide outage is to blame.


If you call 911, you may get a busy signal.

Various agencies took to Twitter to tell people which numbers to call in an emergency.

Residents in Tacoma, Fife or Fircrest are recommended to call the non-emergency line at 253-627-0151.

On Thursday, CenturyLink said engineers identified a problem involving a "network element" that was affecting customer services and expected to restore service within four hours.

But on Friday morning, the problem still wasn't fixed. CenturyLink tweeted around 9 a.m. Friday that progress was being made but the work was not complete.
