SPD south 3312 Rainier and Othello SPD unit got behind vehicle which ran, hit head on with vehicle 23rd/Grand 3 trapped in overturned car ETA- sounded like jacked vehicle ran prior to SPD unit Ocean 03 even lighting it up |

Suspect driver unconscious, possibly transient Update- Vehicle was running. RP initially fled the scene as well- WTF? SFD Battalion 5 "Grand Command" 2 adults 2 children trapped. 3 now extricated. |

So when this initially went out as a carjacking, the car owner left the area, sounded intoxicated and was found in a post office. An SPD unit located the vehicle, gave the location and was following it for less than a block awaiting backup to attempt a stop when the driver fled around a corner and ran head-on into another vehicle. Victim vehicle had 4 people, one ejected. Suspect was unconscious upon extrication and is going to HarborZoo along with 3 from the victim vehicle. Media arriving onscene. |

4 (Out of 7) of SFD's medic units are on this one. Hope nobody in the south end, West Seattle or downtown goes into cardiac arrest for a while... |

Another update- no one can locate the original victim in this, there exists the slight possibility he may in fact be the driver. |

Interestingly enough, running the suspect's name indicates he's a convicted felon, last felony conviction in 2010 was for...wait for it...auto theft. ETA- per HMC staff, suspect was at Harborview earlier today, creating a disturbance, demanding narcotics. Back to your regular holiday schedule of DV calls and so far at least one stabbing...complete with an aggressive pitbull. ETA x2- possibly 2 stabbings, including one with a sharpened piece of wood. |
