WSP/County/Bremerton Police are now in the process of "recovering" two stolen pieces of United Rentals equipment removed from a jobsite... a "mini excavator" and skidsteer loader... Apparently equipped with LoJack SVRS gear... Tuning into 173.075 reveals several strong transmitters beaconing about once every 30 seconds or so, I assume these are "control" facilities...
Looking up stuff on the WWW reveals the "active" stolen vehicle transmitter will transmit its 300mS 1200 baud "screech" once a second.... The "vehicle" transmitters are 2.5W, so that should give you an idea as to how close (or far away) one of these would need to be to be heard at your "monitoring point".............
Somewhere on the property here I have a "stationmaster" style antenna tuned specifically to this frequency and has a VERY narrow VSWR bandwidth
