The Puyallup incident yesterday was a man with apparent mental problems who walked into the Baptist church there and said he was going to take the pastor hostage so he could tell “his story.” He complained of hearing voices and was not armed, I’m told. Apparently while he was at the church he called KIRO to tell them what was going on.
It ended peacefully with the pastor telling the man the police were going to come in and get him. No one was injured and I believe the man was committed at Western State Hospital.
