Heard one earlier in the day, but this followed a jake brake a few minutes before, then quieter booms later... Realized someone must have gotten a load of something hauled in a Dump Truck :bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

What time was that at? Doubt it was them after they got in trouble for doing that a while ago. Could have been the F18/ F or G demonstration jet. They feather it on the brink of breaking the barrier, wouldn't surprise me if they did it.

Yes! Time is an important quantity in this situation! Place wouldn't hurt, either.. . Where is this house you speak of :?:

Dump truck banging its tailgate was South East of me, so that kinda puts the fast aircraft playing over Lake Washington out of the picture, at least here in CN87QM...

I've heard at least 3 today. They fly right over the house but I've heard them today as they rattle the windows.

I was outside at about 2:00ish in Lake Hills and heard it...and watched the windows wiggle at work. Definetly felt and sounded like sonic boom due to the BA's flying schedule.

fairwood

it was no dump truck, it shook my house hard. after talking with neighbors we could only come up with localized lightning blast that was close as others experienced things knocked off fancy shelves

Checked the seismic recorders scattered about the region and they didn't pick anything up in that timeframe... so I like the lightning theory.
Especially if there were no reports of vehicles being destroyed by IED

But then with a lightning blast strong enough to create a shockwave that knocks stuff off of shelves likely would have created an EMP which would damage electronics nearby, but not necessarily immediately.

A friend up between Woodinville and Snohomish seems to get blasted rather frequently, even for being in the convergence... He recently had to replace the op-amp in a big Astron power supply following a strike.
The one that hit a year or two earlier took out a computer and some other stuff.

Doesn't hurt to ground the piss out of everything and have all the important or expensive electronics plugged into surge arrestors, line conditioners and maybe a UPS...

Due to the weather and cloud cover, the Blue Angels had to switch to a "flat show" and this caused the sounds to be much more powerful that at times it sounded like a "sonic boom". they even flew closer to the crowds on the banks of Lake Washington during the "flat show"

One local resident claimed that one of her windows were blown out of her house..................
