South Whidbey Fire requested by Coast Guard to launch marine rescue resources. An un-manned 10ft dinghy found afloat 1 mile east of Clinton Ferry Dock, the oars were found approx. 100 yards away. The initial dispatch indicated that Coast Guard would be launching a helicopter, 1 hour eta.

At home now, listening to various radios.

Ok - hearing Coast Guard on 22a, talking to a civilian boat on scene. Apparently, armed with the vessel information, the Coast Guard was able to locate the owner, and there is no distress. The boat is just afloat, and the owner can't get it right now.

The civilian boat will be towing it to shore and beaching it.

Everyone's standing down.

So.....never mind.
