Can you detect an output PL tone? Should be 162.2Hz if its Kitsap...

Well, this time around the garbage didn't stay on long enough to do much more than get the compooter fired up and get some posts up here... By the time they hit Intercept it went away!!!!!!

Makes me wonder....

But yes, there are receiving devices amongst my station equipment that would have permitted checking for a tone but no time this time...

If you look at the general discussion section one would find the original observation at 0-dark-30 in the morning and the subsequent reply from 'JLF... and it was the "King County" tone he observed IIRC... but we can check the earlier posts that I subsequently replied to....

As they say, " Stay Tuned".....

As far as recording it, same problem this time around... And you wouldn't want to listen to it, it's horrible!

I have available software on one computer, requiring digging up mikes, jacking them in, etc....

Likewise, there is available the Sony DTC A7 DAT machine, a Tascam 32
open-reel (with DBX noise reduction) a Tascam 102 cassette deck,
a couple Sony mini-disc devices, even a pair of stereo VCR's... take your pick... and even a Tascam four-track Portastudio 414, I could have dug out from under THAT pile of radioscrap...

Given a good solid 10 or more minutes of "stuff happening" I could have gotten SOMETHING going... a bit more time I could have pressed into service a rotatable directive array and even got some sort of beam heading :bowrofl:

Maybe next time....

There was a SAR callout at Annette Lake Friday night. You were probably picking up traffic from that.

In-progress SAR mission??? Now there at least is a "commonality"...
IIRC the earlier morning incident back whenever also took place during a SAR mission in Normandy Park.

Methinks someone has a VERY broken radio

Back yet again, this time I think I have decent audio recording.
As of right this second the racket is not being transmitted, but have heard it on and off again since around 1100 local time today.

Tone on the transmitter is 123.0 hz, so definitely a King County gig...

Sean, are you lurking???

If I remember right that was a former Everett PD tac frequency years ago. I have it entered in my Pro 2042 and haven't heard anything on there in several years. I'm near Monroe.

Where are you at DQH? Maybe you are picking up some spurious crap from a messed up TX?

QTH: CN87QL or Kitsap County, not all that far from the King County
"Fragaria" trunked radio site... but that runs directional panels pointed at Vashon Island... and away from me

Got a "tone check" and some audio recording as well, on two receivers, different antennae, and with stereo microphones on one of my Sony minidisc recorders... so have to play that into the other compooter, scrunch it into an MP3 and stick it on this thread as an attatchment...

Tone is the 123.0 used by King County...

Maybe a SAR mission running today also????

Eric

I just heard some talk about checking out someone that is blowing up mailboxes with M-80's. They are asking if they are still on 4. Someone is burning up mailboxes? On Sunnyslope and Dickenson?

Apparently this type of thing happened out that way sometime last week,
so a serial mailbox arsonist???

Fire even got dispatched

Sounds like they may be still looking...
