Armed Standoff
Spokane Police Officers responded to an occupied burglary call to the 110 block of E Nora last night at about 2 am. The homeowner got into a physical fight with the burglar who claimed to have a gun. Police quickly located a suspect at 922 E Ermina and confirmed a handgun was involved. The occupants of the apartment refused to cooperate with police. A standoff ensued for a few hours with SWAT teams deployed. A tactical resolution caused the scene to come to a peaceful end. Cody J Wolk 24 years and Peta N Shimanski 24 years were taken into custody without incident. They were booked into Spokane County jail for 1st degree burglary and 1st degree robbery. The investigation continues and more charges may be pending.
