An explosion occurred in the Nally Valley area of Tacoma (felt it shake my house several milkes away). Beeper on N primary, but units moved to Tac 2. I am not picking anything up on anything I have for Tac 2 unless it went encrypted (I locked out all the encryption channels). |

New health law's that came into effect like 4 or 5 years ago. Confidentiality. It's why the news sometimes does not know the condition of a patient at Harborview. Also why no names of patients even on HEARS |

oh ok thanks, yeah the firefighter was giving weight, age and the company he drove for and the ops guy got really angry and told him to be careful giving out too much info on the air. PS what is HEARS?? |

It was interesting. My wife and I felt (yes, we actually felt vibration from it) and heard the explosion here in the valley in Auburn. Auburn FD had what sounded like a full response to a report of an explosion on West Valley Highway right after we heard it. Valley Comm indicated they had received a couple of other calls about it. After searching with negative results Battalion 31 was speaking with Valley Comm when the dispatcher advised that Tacoma Fire had just reported a large explosion within their coverage area. |
