How many of these events have taken place? This is why you are not receiving alert.

- Mass-casualty incidents
- Large multi-alarm structure fires
- SWAT activity or other large police deployments
- Pursuits
- Riots involving over 50 people
- Earthquakes 8.0 and above
- Category 5 storms
- Meteor impacts
- Massage Parlor vice raids

etc...

None have been sent yet. Right now the dispatch criteria is "major incidents only". Guess nobody has heard anything major worth dispatching.

In a way this is a good thing as I would imagine people might get irritated if they are constantly receiving pages of relatively minor/routine stuff.

I vote no, but was curious on why the SPD shooting didn't make it.

That one is easy. Nobody with alert-sending capability was listening to that particular SPD talkgroup at the time the shooting occurred.

ahh so another Q is there a proper way to inform the dispatchers if there is traffic, happen to flip to it about 5 min after the incident broke wasn't near a computer to post about it but I do have a Blackberry where I could email ...is it practical to have a email for the dispatchers?

AKA is there a way to inform the disp. if they don't happen to be at the same bat channel and bat time as the post worthy incident?

do we have a bat phone?

I was listening to PSOPS-S1 when this shooting was unfolding (see other thread), and sent a page out after I heard "Shots Fired" - It appears to come over my phone ok (Verizon). Any one else who's subscribed to Western WA get that page, and see any problem on their providers?

Brad.

I got it on Verizon as "South Seattle/Shots fired, 65 Av. S on PSOPS-S1"

followed by "That's Talkgroup PSOPS-S1, King County TRS"
