"You must first log into the forums to access the options on this page."

But I am logged in! Suppose I should probably delete my cookies and try again.

VERY cool, I look forward to seeing this take off.
Remember folks:

Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com
Cingular: phonenumber@cingularme.com
Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com

where phonenumber = your 10 digit phone number

Please correct me if I've mucked any of this up.

Log out and then log in again, worked for me.

It's not working properly, I still can not see the options menu using two different computers. Even if some people can get it to work by logging in and out that does not seem like it is working correctly.

Logging in simply sets an encrypted cookie.

The alerts page checks to see if the cookie is set.

If its not set, then it tells you that you need to log in.

So... the likely cause of failure is if your web browser does not properly handle cookies.

I don't suppose you are using a mac ? If so you might want to read this:

ok I found a possible way to get around the mac cookie bug (provided this is the issue). You might have to clear your cookies though since I had to change the cookie format.

Has anyone been sending alerts?
I haven't received any with the exception of the Spokane I sent Friday.
I'm signed on for Western WA & Spokane.

The alerts page has been changed to include an option for what hours you would like to receive alerts.

This has been done for people who prefer sleeping over hearing their cellphone/pager going off.

It is still in the experimental stage and it goes by whatever timezone and DST settings you have set in the forums.
(click on "User Control Panel" then "Board Preferences" to see these settings).

Please let me know if you receive pages outside of the times you specify. The goal here is to make the alert service usable for everyone.
